A graphic novel has a beginning, middle and end story structure as opposed to the comic book, which does not follow this structure.* A fictional story (the NOVEL part) told in the graphic format — similar to the format of comics* A bound comic book* A work where illustrations and/or cells tell most of the story with limited use of text* Anything that is more than just a series of comic books (the person who sent me this readily admitted that this definition is problematic b/c graphic can refer to non-fiction as well as fiction and NOVEL implies fiction)* A novel that uses images to convey action, scene and tone while maintaining written dialogue and internal monologues* A set of collected comic books or a stand alone story that has a spine or is glued together like a book* Long form comic book
